Liebherr

Liebherr was founded by engineer Hans Liebherr in 1949 in Kirchdorf an der Iller, Germany.

Born into a family of builders, Hans Liebherr was well aware of the difficulties that arose during the construction of various facilities. So he decided to get an engineering degree and later worked in the family business.

During the post-war reconstruction of Germany, Hans realized that the construction industry lacked mobile and convenient construction equipment. The first revolutionary product that Hans Liebherr created was the T-10 mobile tower crane, which was compact and significantly reduced the cost of work on the construction site, as well as being as easy to use as possible. This invention quickly became popular and became the basis for the founding of Liebherr.

In the 50s and 60s, the already established Liebherr actively developed and expanded its product range, began to manufacture excavators, bulldozers, etc.
Also, during this period of time, Liebherr opened a new business line, namely household appliances. And in the late 60s, Liebherr was actively opening factories and representative offices outside of Germany.

In the 70s and 80s, Liebherr began manufacturing mining equipment: mining dump trucks and excavators. Later, it produced one of the world's largest hydraulic excavators. The company was involved in the aviation industry when it began developing systems for airplanes and railways. 

Nowadays, Liebherr is a group of companies that includes 140 companies in more than 50 countries. It is still known as the manufacturer of the most powerful and largest cranes in the world, and participates in the manufacture of hydraulic components for Boeing and Airbus aircraft
