Sauer-Danfoss 42R28 42L28 PVM28 — axial piston hydraulic pump 28 cm³

Sauer-Danfoss Series 42 hydraulic pumps 42R28, 42L28 and PVM28 are axial piston units with a cradle swashplate design and variable displacement of 28 cm³, designed for closed-circuit hydrostatic transmissions of medium power. The designations 42R28 and 42L28 indicate the input shaft rotation direction — clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) respectively, while PVM28 is the previous designation for the same pump. Stepless swashplate adjustment in both directions from neutral provides smooth flow reversal without additional valve fittings. The Series 42 features the shortest axial length among comparable pumps in its class, simplifying integration into machines with limited mounting space. A wide range of servo control options — mechanical (MDC), electric proportional (EDC, NFPE), hydraulic proportional (NFPH) and three-position electric — allows flexible adaptation to various transmission control schemes. The pump is installed in Bobcat, Gehl, Mustang, New Holland, Case, Manitou and JCB machinery.
