Liebherr LPVD90 — variable displacement axial piston hydraulic pump
Liebherr LPVD90 is a variable displacement axial piston pump from the LPVD series, manufactured in Switzerland. It operates in an open hydraulic circuit: oil from the actuators returns to the tank rather than directly to the pump inlet — this is how most excavator hydraulic systems work, where the pump simultaneously supplies the boom, arm, bucket, swing and travel. Variable displacement allows the pump to automatically adjust its output to the current load — rather than continuously pumping at maximum and dumping the excess through a relief valve. The modular regulator system supports hydraulic, proportional and load sensing control.
