Hitachi HMS067 HMS072 HMS097 — axial piston hydraulic swing motor
Hitachi HMS067, HMS072 and HMS097 are axial piston hydraulic swing motors with a swash plate and fixed displacement. They are installed in excavators weighing 11–16 tonnes of the Hitachi Zaxis series, performing the function of driving the upper structure. The HMS series motors are structurally dual (tandem) — two independent piston blocks are combined in a single housing. This allows the load to be distributed between the two sections and improves swing control precision. Each motor includes a spring-applied parking brake with a friction disc pack and an anti-reverse valve. The HMS067, HMS072 and HMS097 models differ in displacement and are used on various equipment modifications, but share a common design base. The motors are installed in Hitachi crawler excavators, wheeled excavators and crushers.
