Komatsu D31 D37 D39 — axial piston HST pump with dual closed circuit
Hydrostatic transmission pump (HST pump) for Komatsu D31, D37 and D39 series dozers. The design features two independent closed circuits (dual-path closed-circuit) in a single housing — each variable displacement pump supplies a separate travel motor for the corresponding track. This layout completely eliminates steering clutches and brakes: changes in the rotational speed of the left or right track are achieved directly by regulating the output of the corresponding pump. The Komstat II system provides smooth turning across a wide range — from slow gradual turns to counter-rotation at minimum turning radius. Electronic control supports two speed selection modes. In Variable Speed mode the operator gradually increases or decreases speed through 20 steps using buttons on the PCCS joystick — this provides precise adjustment during grading and levelling work. In Quick Shift mode three fixed speed presets are available, which the operator configures to their working style via the monitor; switching between them is instantaneous.
