The Sauer-Danfoss PV90R55 / PV90L55 axial piston hydraulic pump belongs to the Series 90 — closed-circuit axial piston units with a swash plate. The design features nine parallel pistons with slipper pads sliding on the swash plate, providing smooth flow regulation from zero to maximum in both directions. The built-in charge pump maintains circuit pressure, cools and supplies oil for control functions. The PV90R55 and PV90L55 are mirror-image versions — with right-hand and left-hand shaft rotation respectively. They are used as the drive pump in tandem and soil compactors by Bomag and Dynapac, skid steer loaders by Caterpillar, combine harvesters by Claas and New Holland, forwarders and harvesters by Timberjack / John Deere, as well as in the drum drive of transit mixers.
