Sauer-Danfoss Series 40 — hydraulic motor / pump
Sauer-Danfoss Series 40 is a line of medium-power swashplate axial piston hydraulic pumps and motors for closed-circuit hydrostatic systems. The series covers single variable pumps (MPV), tandem pumps (MPT), fixed-displacement motors (MMF), and variable motors (MMV) with displacements from 25 to 46 cm³. Maximum working pressure is 345 bar. M25, M35, and M44 pumps use a trunnion-style direct displacement control, while M46 uses a cradle swashplate design with two-position hydraulic servo control.

Sauer-Danfoss Series 40 pumps and motors are used in the hydrostatic transmissions of compact loaders, mini excavators, and telescopic handlers from manufacturers such as Bobcat, JCB, Manitou, and Gehl. The series is also used in municipal equipment, industrial-grade lawn mowers, and specialised medium-power agricultural machinery.
